JALADOより“YELLOW STONE VEST”のご紹介です。
オリジナルで織り上げた渾身のブランケット生地で仕立てたブランケットベストYERROWSTONEのリリースです。
Crow族が導かれ居住していたとされる地名を名付けました。
尾州に１台しかないジャガード織機を使用し経糸梳毛2/48を使用し、緯糸1/10が、ほぼ出てくるようしております。
経糸にはあえて細い梳毛を打ち込むことで緯糸の紡毛で打ち込んだ色糸が表に顔を出し、ネイティブブランケットの重厚な雰囲気を表現しております。
何度も当時の柄の雰囲気に合うよう糸色のビーカーの確認や配色のテストを重ね、２年がかりで柄を組み上げました。
緯糸の柄・風合いを出す為整理工場と打ち合わせの上特別な軽いミルド（軽い起毛をかけたまま）の上、再抑えしております。
2色などの色数の少ないブランケットではタテヨコともに紡毛で織り上げより、分厚い表情もできますが、逆に色数が多く柄も複雑なものを表現した事で大変な手間を要する生地となります。
生地をヨコ使いにして柄の見せ方を変えております。
40年代頃のワークベストをベースにこのスペシャルなブランケットで仕立てました。
襟付きのため着こなしを上品に楽しめます。
ポケットの端をパイピング処理することでより雰囲気を盛り上げております。シャツやカットソーにアクセントを利かせたコーディネイトができる一枚となります。
▼ JELADO / Yellow Stone Vest
Introducing the Yellow Stone Vest from JELADO — a standout piece crafted from our original blanket fabric, woven with meticulous care and attention to detail.
Named after the region historically inhabited by the Crow Tribe, this vest pays homage to heritage while showcasing expert Japanese craftsmanship. The fabric is woven on a rare jacquard loom—only one of its kind available in the renowned textile region of Bishu, Japan.
Using 2/48 worsted yarns for the warp and prominently featuring 1/10 woolen yarns for the weft, we’ve created a fabric that brings the richness and depth of vintage Native American blankets to life. The intentionally fine warp allows the bold weft yarns to emerge on the surface, enhancing the blanket’s character and visual impact.
The pattern took over two years to develop, involving countless tests of color combinations and yarn dyeing to faithfully recreate the atmosphere of antique motifs. To highlight the texture and richness of the weft design, we applied a special milling process—lightly brushing the surface before gently setting it again, giving the fabric both warmth and refinement.
Unlike simpler blankets made with fewer colors and woolen yarns in both directions, this complex multicolor jacquard design demanded significant time and craftsmanship.
The vest is cut with the fabric turned sideways, altering the direction of the pattern for a unique visual presentation. Based on a 1940s work vest silhouette, it features a tailored collar and piped pocket edges, enhancing its refined, vintage-inspired appeal.
Whether layered over a shirt or worn casually over a tee, the Yellow Stone Vest brings sophistication, texture, and cultural depth to any outfit.
