Jeladoから、 Dean がリリースされました。

50年代のジェームスディーンが代表作『理由なき反抗』で着用していた赤いドリズラー（実質的にはアンチフリーズですが）、そのスタイルに敬意を表してDEANと名付けました。

今回は、ディーンという名前にふさわしいカラーを特別に製作しました。

通常のドリズラーに使用されるナイロンコットンの素材ではなく、より高密度で打ち込むことで自然な光沢を生み出すベンタイルを使用し、定番のデザインに新しさ、耐久性、そして高級感を取り入れました。ベンタイルは、英国空軍のパイロットが耐水服として開発した超高密度の織物で、冷たい海中でも生命を守るために設計されました。ベンタイルは、世界でも最長の綿繊維を使用し、超高密度に織り上げた100％コットンの天然素材です。

人工の防水素材とは異なり、高い織り密度と天然の綿繊維が水に濡れると膨らむという特性を組み合わせ、生地を染める過程で撥水処理も施しています。この加工方法と一般的なコーティングやラミネートといった防水加工の最大の違いは、コットン素材の自然な通気性と肌触りを維持しながら、撥水性を確保できる点にあります。そして、人工素材とは異なり、生地が擦れる際にシャカシャカという音がなく、天然繊維のカジュアルな感触を楽しんでいただけるのも特徴の一つです！

国内で織り上げられたこの生地には、タテヨコ共に40/2の超長綿が限界まで打ち込まれています。

Introducing the Dean jacket from JELADO.

This piece pays tribute to the iconic red drizzler jacket worn by James Dean in the 1950s classic Rebel Without a Cause—a jacket technically closer to an “anti-freeze” than a typical drizzler. Named “Dean” in honor of that legendary style, this release comes in a specially developed color that captures its spirit.

Rather than using the conventional nylon-cotton blend typically seen in drizzler jackets, JELADO has chosen Ventile—a densely woven, natural cotton fabric known for its unique luster, high durability, and luxurious feel. Originally developed by the British Royal Air Force for flight suits, Ventile was designed to protect pilots in frigid ocean waters. It is made from 100% cotton using the world’s longest staple fibers, woven at ultra-high density.

Unlike synthetic waterproof materials, Ventile uses the natural swelling properties of cotton when wet to provide water resistance. This is further enhanced by a water-repellent finish during the dyeing process. The key advantage of this method—compared to coatings or laminates—is that it retains cotton’s natural breathability and soft hand feel, while still offering protection from moisture.

Another notable feature is the absence of the “rustling” sound typical of synthetic fabrics. Instead, you get the comfortable, quiet texture of natural fibers that blends casual comfort with functional performance.

The Ventile fabric used in this piece is domestically woven in Japan using tightly packed 40/2 extra-long staple cotton yarns in both warp and weft directions, pushing the material to its limits in density and quality.
