ジェラードより"Sweat Cardigan"のご紹介です。

2024年のCOLLECTIONテーマは「SPROUT」。

このテーマは、20年前に代表後藤が始めたヴィンテージショップの名前を起用しました。当時集めていたものを振り返りながら復刻していくコレクションとなります。

ライディングハイさんとの協力のもと、EXPEDITION SWEAT CARDIGANをリリースしました。

このアイテムは、テーマの代名詞ともいえるものであり、久しぶりに展開するスウェットです。
綿100％の米綿混の空紡糸で編み立てられており、表糸は14/-（空紡糸）、中糸は20/-（右寄り）、裏糸は10/-で編まれています。

特に裏糸のボリュームを出すために、編み機パーツを改造しており、編み機のゲージは表の再現性を重視してニッターさんと話し合ってオリジナルの12Gと針も自社開発しています。

起毛のかけ方にもこだわり、米式起毛機にて起毛をかけることで、ヴィンテージ同様の裏毛起毛の表情を再現しました。

当時のからからに乾いた生地の雰囲気を再現するために、生地を編み立てた後に脱脂を施しています。

生地感を再現することに注力し、ヴィンテージ同様の生地の堅さや表の編み目の表情など、高いクオリティを実現しています。

縫製も脱脂した堅い生地を丁寧に縫い上げ、各パーツをつなぐ縫製には2本針が使用されています。

色目に関しては、90年代に高く評価されていた珍しいカラーを再現しました。2000年代にはフルスナップの方が価値が高く評価されており、その当時でも珍しいカラー物の評価は高かったと考えています。

現在も評価が上がりつづけるリバースウィーブを、高い次元で再現できたと考えています。ジャストサイズもオーバーサイズもどちらも使え、軽く一枚羽織る際に非常に便利なスウェットカーディガンです。

Introducing the Sweat Cardigan from JELADO, part of the 2024 “SPROUT” Collection.

This collection revisits the roots of JELADO, named after the vintage shop founder Goto opened 20 years ago. Drawing from the treasures gathered in those early days, JELADO brings back iconic pieces with renewed craftsmanship.

In collaboration with Riding High, this EXPEDITION Sweat Cardigan is a standout piece in the collection — a long-awaited return to premium sweatwear.

Crafted from 100% U.S. cotton blend using air-spun yarn, the fabric structure includes a 14/- outer yarn, 20/- Z-twist middle yarn, and a voluminous 10/- inner loopback yarn. To achieve the perfect fleece texture, knitting machines were custom-modified and operated using original 12-gauge settings with specially developed needles.

The brushed interior is processed with a U.S.-style napping machine to faithfully replicate the dry texture and fluffy warmth found in vintage sweatshirts. Further, the fabric is degreased post-knitting to recreate the crisp, dry feel of mid-century American sweatwear.

The structure is reinforced with two-needle stitching for durability, and every detail—from stitch tension to fabric density—reflects a deep dedication to vintage accuracy.

Colorways are inspired by rare hues highly prized in the 1990s, capturing a nostalgic palette with subtle uniqueness. During the 2000s, full-snap sweatshirts became highly collectible, and this cardigan revives those rare tones in a modern, high-quality format.

Whether worn true to size or oversized, this versatile piece functions as a light outer layer with outstanding vintage appeal and functionality.
