▼WEST RIDE / ウエストライド ウエストライドより”ARMY UTILITY SHIRTS”のご紹介です。 20‘SオリジナルARMY UTILITY SHIRTS VINTAGEをベースに綿糸による運針や縫製面など忠実に作り込んだ新作。 ミリタリーヴィンテージ不動の名作、戦前US ARMY デニムプルオーバーシャツを当時にカスタムしたであろう「フルボタン・タイプ」。 VINTAGE衣料に極稀に見られるこの仕様をイメージして製作する一着になります。 実物のデニムプルオーバーシャツは、捕虜となった兵士に着せていたことから、「Prisoner of war＝捕虜」を略した「PW」や「P」というステンシルが配されているものも多く、古着市場では貴重なヴィンテージアイテムとしてコンディションの良いものは驚くほど高値で取り引きされています。 そのカスタムバージョンであるフルボタン・タイプをモチーフとして生地には9.5oz耳付きデニムを採用。 縫製においても細部まで妥協ない作り込みで表現。 特徴的な前立てのポケット、手付けによるU.S ARMYアルミ製ドーナツボタン、着込むことでコーティングが剥がれ落ちやがて糸のみが残るペーパータグなど、幾多のディテールを盛り込んで製作します。 同素材を使用した ARMY UTILITY PANTS とのセットアップもオススメです WESTRIDE – Introducing the “ARMY UTILITY SHIRTS” This new release is faithfully crafted based on the original 1920s Army Utility Shirts vintage, paying close attention to cotton thread stitching and overall sewing details. Inspired by the timeless pre-war US Army denim pullover shirt—a military vintage classic—this piece imagines a “full-button type” version that was likely customized back in the day. This full-button style is rarely seen on vintage garments and is the motif for this shirt. The actual denim pullover shirts often bear stencils such as “PW” or “P,” abbreviations for “Prisoner of War,” as they were worn by captured soldiers. Well-preserved items in the vintage market fetch astonishingly high prices due to their rarity and historical significance. The custom full-button version is recreated here using 9.5oz selvedge denim. The construction leaves no detail spared, including the distinctive front placket pockets, hand-attached U.S. Army aluminum donut buttons, and a paper tag that wears down over time leaving only the stitching behind.
