WESTRIDEから、W-44 JACKET　PLAIN VERがリリースされました。


1940年代にU.S.M.C（UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS）が採用したM-44。

第二次世界大戦時のアメリカ海兵隊ユーティリティージャケットのカスタム・バージョンとの設定でリリースする新作は、実在した使い勝手の良いポケットが追加された5POCKETタイプ。
そのポケットの高さと深さも見事に計算されています。
オリジナルを忠実に再現した硫化染料の先染めヘリンボーン地は着込むことでの素晴らしい経年変化を約束します。
背面のプリントは帰還兵が帰国後に愛と平和を願って自分のジャケットに悪戯書きをしたイメージで。そのジャケットを見たBOBBY BLANDが「名曲の一節」を思いついたという架空のストーリーが設定されています。両胸のスリットポケットは従来のボタン仕様から開閉を考慮してのスナップ釦。鉄製ドーナツボ タンや着込むことでコーティングが剥がれ落ちやがて糸のみが残る紙タグなど、幾多のディテールを残しつつも、より使い勝手に優れたJKTとしてアップデートした意欲作です。

Introducing from WESTRIDE the W-44 JACKET PLAIN VER.


The M-44 was originally adopted by the U.S.M.C (United States Marine Corps) in the 1940s.
This new release is a custom version of the World War II-era US Marine Corps utility jacket, designed as a 5-pocket type with additional practical pockets. The height and depth of these pockets are carefully calculated for excellent usability.


The jacket is made from a sulfide-dyed, pre-dyed herringbone fabric that faithfully reproduces the original, promising wonderful aging and wear over time.


The back print is inspired by the image of returning soldiers who, after coming home, scribbled messages of love and peace on their jackets. According to a fictional story, upon seeing one such jacket, musician Bobby Bland was inspired with the lyrics to a famous song.


The chest slit pockets are updated from traditional button closures to snap buttons for easier opening and closing. Other authentic details include iron donut buttons and a paper tag that gradually loses its coating and eventually leaves only the threads as the jacket is worn in.


While preserving many original details, this jacket is updated to offer improved usability—a bold and thoughtful piece.
